Impatiens Camellia

Impatiens Camellia, commonly known as Camellia Balsamina or Garden Balsam, is a flowering plant species native to South east Asia.

It belongs to the family Balsaminaceae and is a popular choice for gardeners due to its colourful and showy flowers.

Impatiens Camellia features large, double flowers that resemble the blooms of Camellia plants, hence the common name “Camellia Balsam”.

The flowers come in a wide range of colours, including pink, red, orange, rose, purple, and white.

They have a waxy texture and are characterised by their ruffled petals and attractive patterns.

The blooming period of Impatiens Camellia typically occurs during summer and continues until the first frost.

The flowers attract pollinators like bees and butterflies, adding to the garden’s biodiversity.

They prefer partial shade or filtered sunlight and thrives in well-drained, fertile soil.

It is often grown as an annual in temperate climates, but it can also be cultivated as a perennial in warmer regions.

It is worth noting that Impatiens camellia should not be confused with the common Impatiens (Impatiens Walleriana), which is a different species of Impatiens and is more commonly grown as an annual bedding plant.
