Detroit Beetroot

If you’re seeking a home grown favourite that thrives in Aussie soil, look no further than our Detroit Beetroot.

These crimson gems are not only delicious but also perfectly suited to Australian gardens.

Beetroot is one of the most versatile vegetables in the kitchen. From roasting and pickling to creating vibrant salads and even using it as a natural food colouring, beetroot is a culinary treasure.

Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just starting out, beetroot is a fantastic choice. This high yielding variety has good internal colouring and excellent taste.

Growing notes:

  • Plant in a full sun position
  • Beetroot prefers a well-draining soil that is rich in organic matter
  • Late Winter to Autumn
  • Keeping the soil consistently moist is crucial for successful beetroot growth. However, be mindful not to over water, as this can lead to rot.
  • Water at the base of the plant to avoid wetting the leaves, which can result in fungal issues
  • Plant seeds 2cm deep 10cm apart. If planting in rows, keep the rows 50cm apart
  • Germinates in 7-14 days
  • Matures in 60-70 days

Each pack has 25 seeds.
